I just want to share a few videos to reflect on what an amazing year 2015 was for the vegan/cruelty free movement. And yes, this is a movement and we're going to bring change. I'm a strong believer in that one day all forms of oppression will cease and we'll one day come to know a world of true peace and compassion. I know sometimes people laugh at veganism, or say that it is unrealistic to think humans will stop eating meat and dairy and using animal skins for fashion, but change is never an instantaneous process: it took hundreds of years just to convince white people to stop enslaving and opressing black people. It took hundreds of years to give women the right to vote. It takes hundreds of years, and voices, and acts of bravery to create a revolution.
But it's possible.

Let's be real. You know vegan is catching when they start stocking Biocheese at Coles ;)
In 2015 we saw a boom in the vegan community, especially within the age demographic of 16-25 years, through instagram, youtube channels and blogs. PETA's campaigns had overwhelming success and reached thousands through videos, advertisements, public displays and celebrity endorsements. Freelee the Banana Girl has almost hit 500,000 subscribers on Youtube, as a key ambassador for this vegan movement and Kalel (formerly KalelKitten/WatchUsLiveandStuff) with over 1.8 million subscribers made the choice to dedicate her life to fighting for animal rights, erasing all her old videos and creating amazing new content focusing on vegan food/fashion/lifestyle.
Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Ellie Goulding, Ariana Grande and Australia's Isabelle Cornish ('Vicki' from Puberty Blues) all spoke up about their choice to go plant-based and Beyonce will be launching a vegan meal catering service after making a very public announcement about the benefits she experienced on a plant based diet to lose weight.

On the food front, 2015 saw Sydney launch Australia's first fully vegan Fish and Chip shop 'Bliss and Chips' in Newtown. This addition to Sydney's ever-growing vegan hubb joins Superfood Sushi (a fish free sushi bar, plant based), Suzy Spoon's Vegetarian Butcher and popular Gigi's Pizzeria went plant-based and took cheese off the menu in September.
Melbourne was joined by the well-deservingly famous Smith and Deli, bringing the fine-tastes of Melbourne food and coffee lovers a real cruelty-free treat just off Brunswick st Fitzroy (are we suprised by the location?). Further out in Templestowe, Power Plant also joined the plant-based crew as well as Supercharger Wholefood in Emporium, Melbourne City.

The world is shifting for the better and that makes me so excited to go into 2016 with a bit of a spring in my step, knowing that there is hope and that I'm definitely not alone in the fight for this peace. I'm dedicating this year and the rest of my life toward helping create this revolution and stop the torture, rape and murder of animals... but not only that, I refuse to be part of the percentage of people who suffer from lifestyle diseases such as heart disease, cancer or diabetes as a result of diet, and I urge people I know to switch to a plant based lifestyle because I don't want to lose them to any of these painful and miserating illnesses either. I love animals and my compassion for their lives is what drives me to do this most of all, but the health of myself and everyone around me is what brought me here in the first place and I still stand by that 100%.
Like I once said, this lifestyle fills me with so much empowerment and this website was created to empower YOU to make change to positively impact yourself and the rest of the world. So wherever you are, whoever you are, I hope this helps you in some way and I'm so excited to be sharing all of what I know and sharing my own experiences with you. If theres two people reading this, or ten, I'm enlightened. Let go, 2015, and Let's go, 2016!!
Some 2015 in reviews I found inspiring:
